Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort and city for gambling, shopping and dining. It bills itself as the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” It is a growing retirement and family city with very affordable real estate properties for purchase or rent. The primary drivers of the economy are gambling, tourism and conventions, which in turn feed the retail and restaurant businesses. With the addition of the Mirage, Las Vegas has undergone major development with the building of mega-properties such as casinos and hotels. The Smith Center of the Performing Arts, a property devoted to Broadway shows and performances is scheduled to open in 2012.
